Why FAQ structure still matters for AI extractability

July 11, 2026 · 4 min read

Models favor content they can excerpt without ambiguity. A clearly scoped question followed by a short, self-contained answer is close to an ideal unit of extraction — it needs no surrounding context to make sense.

For law firms this fits naturally. Clients arrive with the same twenty questions: how long do I have to file, what does a consultation cost, do I pay anything up front, what happens at a first hearing.

Write each answer so it stands alone, lead with the direct response before the caveats, and mark it up with FAQ schema. The goal is a paragraph that reads correctly when a model quotes it in isolation.
